The Dr. called us back with test results and said to go immediately to the ER where an Oncologist would be waiting for us.

In the past two hours we’ve heard: cancer, Leukemia, low white blood cell count, cystic fibrosis, Neuroblastoma, that it’s spread…

IV inserted, more blood drawn, about to do an ultrasound of her tummy. MRI in the morning along with more tests to be named.

Just finished a 40min belly ultrasound. Layla has been poked and prodded all day bit she was still a trooper.

Just found out Layla has a cancerous tumor in her stomach. Cancer is also attacking her bones. We will know more tomrrw, CAT scans, tests.

Moved to Oncology floor at TCH, settling in Layla’s room. She’s sleeping lightly. We’ll try to squeeze in some sleep before the next doc.

The tumor was located. It is not in her stomach but sitting on top of her adrenal gland on her left kidney.

The full skeletal xray came back and all her bones, “look like moths are eating at them”. We don’t know the cause yet.

CT scan soon. Layla got some sleep last night but not much. She’s so exhausted and every hour someone comes in to stick her with a needle.

In recovery from the CT scan. Layla had to be sedated. She should wake up in 30 minutes or so.

Layla was given morphine this afternoon and instantly felt better! She was laughing, talking, singing and EATING. Praise God!

CT results show that the tumor stretches from above her left kidney, around her side, across her belly and around her heart.

Layla will have surgery Monday to remove part of the tumor for a biopsy. Part of her bone will also be removed and checked for cancer.
